Five Years Cancer Free!

Five years ago today, a pivotal moment unfolded in the chapters of my life. It was the day, orchestrated by the skilled hands of my surgeon, that cancer was evicted from my body. A day etched in memory, marking the beginning of a transformative journey—one that would teach me about resilience, love, and the extraordinary beauty of life.
During and after cancer, the embrace of love and support from my remarkable friends and family became the cornerstone of my strength. They stood by me, offering unwavering encouragement when I had no strength of my own. The echoes of their love reverberate through these five years, a testament to the power of human connection in the face of adversity.
Life didn’t come to a standstill after the eviction of cancer; instead, it took on a vibrant new rhythm. Milestones that once seemed distant dreams became tangible realities. I completed my doctorate, ventured into a new professional chapter with the launch of my practice, and delved into the realm of functional medicine through certification.
Beyond the professional realm, life has woven a tapestry of adventures. From traversing new landscapes with loved ones to forging connections with colleagues, these years have been a celebration of the richness life has to offer. Cancer may have left its mark, but it could not erase the memories we created or the bonds we formed.
In the midst of it all, I celebrated the milestone of turning 50—a symbol of resilience and a reminder that life, even after cancer, is meant to be lived fully. These years have been more than just surviving; they have been about thriving, experiencing, and truly living. It hasn’t been a walk in the park, but the journey has been nothing short of amazing.
To my incredible friends, family, colleagues, and medical providers, words can hardly express the depth of my gratitude. Your unwavering support, encouragement, and, at times, the necessary kick in the pants, have been the driving forces behind my journey. Thank you for being my strength when I had none, for cheering me on, and for reminding me that the human spirit is capable of incredible feats.
This isn’t just a story of survival; it’s a narrative of love, triumph, and personal growth. So, here’s to showing and sharing emotions—the tears, the laughter, the moments of vulnerability, and the overwhelming joy. Life after cancer is a celebration of every emotion that makes us human. As I reflect on these five extraordinary years, I am filled with gratitude for the love that surrounded me, the lessons learned, and the vibrant tapestry of life that unfolded. To those on a similar journey, may you find strength in love, courage in support, and the resilience to turn your journey into a celebration of life.
