Embrace a New Year with Realistic Goals, Not Resolutions

As we have entered a new year, let’s make it one to remember by setting achievable goals for optimal health. Predictable resolutions tend to fizzle out, but realistic goals and life changes can lead to remarkable accomplishments. 

Resolutions vs. Reality

Did you know that, according to a recent study, nearly 23% of people quit their resolutions in the first week of the year?! Not only that, but 43% of people quit by the end of January! It’s a common struggle to maintain the momentum of those well-intentioned resolutions. However, the key lies in shifting our mindset from New Years Resolutions to life changing SMART Goals.

S.M.A.R.T. Goals

What are S.M.A.R.T. goals and how can they be used to help you achieve your optimum lifestyle? 

Specific- Clearly state what you want to achieve and what you will do

Measurable- What data will you use to decide whether you’ve met the goal?

 Achievable- Do you have the right skills and resources to accomplish your goal within your specific time frame?

Relevant- Does it align with your values, long-term goals and objectives?

Time-bound- Is your goal set within an appropriate time frame?

Utilizing SMART goals will not only increase your chances of success, but will provide the roadmap for sustainable growth throughout the year. 

Make Your Self-Care a Priority
