Unsurprisingly, this dangerous and unsanitary practice is strongly discouraged and illegal.
In more recent years, we have seen the rise of juice cleanses, detox diets, and the HCG diet, all of which promise rapid weight loss but lack scientific evidence to support their effectiveness. Fast forward to today and the biggest weight loss hype are weight loss injections or GLP-1 injections.
